With unique views to Mt Solitary and the Cedar Gap remote areas the Ruined Castle is one of the best walks in the Kedumba Valley. This fully guided bush walk explores the history and culture of the World Heritage listed National Park.
This is a 12 km return, hard fitness walk with a steep staircase and climb/scramble onto the Ruined Castle saddle and sandstone spires usually half day or full day.
Once at the Castle the 360 degree views will take your breath away leaving you amazed at the vastness of our wilderness area.
The hike takes you through rainforest with tall eucalyptus and past historic shale mining tracks and beneath stunning escarpments.
This walk is abundant with bird life such as Lyre Birds and occasionally large lizards and snakes are seen.
Options for Cable Car entry and exits are available. This will vary the length of tour. Additional cost for cable way exit apply. Most walks have a picnic lunch in the wilderness, Private hiking with a qualified ecology guide - max 6 person, exclusive tours have best adaptability on the day.
